Dainee's
Adults-Only
Escape to
Mexico City

The Memora Edit.
OUR Thoughts on travel, planning, and the places shaping our work.

Mexico City is often compared to New York or major European capitals, and after visiting, it’s easy to understand why. The city blends global sophistication with deep cultural roots in a way that feels both familiar and entirely its own. It’s energetic without being overwhelming, historic without feeling frozen in time, and creatively alive in a way that encourages you to slow down and notice the details.

Our recent visit was intentionally planned as an adults-only getaway focused on food and cocktails (nothing better than traveling with people who have the same priorities!), and it quickly became clear why Mexico City has become one of the most talked-about destinations among travelers.

A World-Class Food City

Mexico City is now firmly established as one of the world’s great culinary capitals, home to more than a dozen Michelin-starred restaurants. But what stands out most isn’t only fine dining, it’s consistency across every level of cuisine. A tasting menu receives the same care and attention as a neighborhood taco stand. Meals feel thoughtful, intentional, and deeply connected to tradition while still pushing creativity forward. Every single meal we had was incredible. I can think of one dish that was just fine, but we ate very well.

A Cocktail Scene Worth Traveling For

Mexico City’s cocktail culture deserves its own spotlight. Some of the most innovative bars in the world are located here, many operating behind unmarked doors or hidden entrances that create an intimate, speakeasy-style atmosphere.

Bartenders treat mezcal and tequila with the same reverence as fine wine, often incorporating local ingredients and storytelling into each menu. My favorite cocktails of the trip were the Fig Martini @ Handshake Speakeasy and the Mezcal Fresh @ Meroma. We have TONS to share about favorite restaurants, bars, dishes, and cocktails...

Many Choices Among Hotels and Neighborhoods

Mexico City is a destination where choosing the right hotel location matters more than most travelers expect. Each neighborhood offers a different energy, and with traffic to consider, planning the trip thoughtfully helps everything flow seamlessly. It’s one of the reasons we love guiding clients here - small decisions make a big impact on the overall experience. If you're planning a trip to Mexico City, we'd love to help you plan it!
